The original family business was founded in Birmingham, UK by the, great grandfather of the current senior Director of Boyce Western Glass. The company ran from two factories serving the whole of the , South, North, East & West Midlands providing a service in the restoration and manufacture of traditional stained glass, general glazing to both the domestic and commercial sectors and windscreen replacement for vehicles. The business is still running today as part of a large group of Companies well known and respected in the UK.

COMPANY PROFILE

Boyce Western Glass was formed in 1991 when Philip J Boyce(Snr) emigrated to Australia and was later joined by Philip R Boyce (Jnr) in late 1992. Due to its long history and English roots, it was originally formed to provide a service in the manufacture and repair of traditional leadlights, but quickly saw a demand for a more economical form of creating the leadlight effect. Thus Boyce Western Glass took on the distributorship for Decra Led and added the manufacture of simulated leadlight lights to its repertoire. It also grew to stock the materials and tools for both genuine and simulated leadlights so that those more inclined to enjoy ‘tinkering’ in the art themselves could access both the quality and variety of materials to create their own masterpieces.

Once Boyce Western Glass moved into the purpose built premises in 2005, it was able to begin shipping glass supplies from Europe, America and Asia and now provides a merchant service in flat glass, stained glass and tools to customers throughout Australia.

In April 2008 Kalamunda Glass and Windscreens on Wheels were brought by Philip (Jnr) and his wife Hazel Boyce, as an avenue to increasing the general glazing side and adding windscreens back into the repertoire for the Boyce family. These businesses were moved to the Boyce Premises in High Wycombe and whilst maintaining their own individual identities they now work alongside each other as ’sister’ companies each serving their own loyal customer base whilst enjoying the ability to over wider range of service in leadlights, commercial and domestic glazing, shower screen manufacture and installation, barrier screen manufacture and installation and general glazing. Hazel then joined the business as the Administrative Director.

Boyce Western Glass is also proud to boast of being one of only a few glass companies in Western Australia having the equipment and skills to provide the specialist service of UV glass glue. This will allow one piece of glass to be glued to another leaving an optical clear finish with no signs of the glue line and stronger than the glass itself and being UV stable.
